Since Pieces of the People We Love dropped and killed it, The Rapture have been laying pretty low. They put out a mix CD on !k7 and pushed a single for Grand Theft Auto, but not much else. Now, however, they pop up for one of their rare DJ sets, here at the club. Also spinning will be Marc-Alan Gray, Chain Smokers, and Lucas Walters from Sweatshop Labor.

The DJs start at 11:00PM, with live performances starting at 8:00PM by Jonny D of Jonny Lives, Last Generation, The Last Broadcast and Rock ‘n Renew

Have we got a packed house for you this Friday. We’ve got 10 DJs lined up, three performers, and three flyers for the same night! An event so big, it needed two nights to do it justice. What’s the occasion you say? Well. Well, well, well. Only Machinedrum’s new album release party, we say.

His style is a mixture of instrumental hip hop, soul-stylin’, vintage synths and rich, structured glitchiness. Oh, and wolf paintings by my high school art teacher. Tons of ‘em.

At 11, he’ll perform with Addiquit and Jesse Boykins III. Then at midnight, the DJ thing blows up, with Mux Mool, Mike Slotts, Are Dad, HeartMe!, Throwy, Marc-Alan Gray, Lucas Walters, Mike Dextro and the Chain Smokers.
